Richard Gladwin with beader lady

African Butterfly® Clips is a fair trade product invented and patented by South Africans. Hand beaded by South African communities.

This is a hair clip ( double sided ) that gets weaved with elastics and beads. Our product is well known for its Quality and Durability.

This is a unique product made for the shortest and thinnest of hair as well as the longest and thickest of hair.

Our market is the International community and our mission and goal is to get our product in outlets and stores globally.

African Butterfly was founded by Thea and Richard Gladwin in 2004 in Johannesburg, South Africa . It’s a family business based in Ferndale, Randburg.

From the beginning our wonderful inventive products was more than an ordinary consumer product and became a very functional fashion item.

We have women from our local communities hand bead each and every product for us.

Your purchase empowers women in our local communities to take care of their needs and contribute to the South African economy.

We have enjoyed the support of the Department of Trade and Industry in 2008 for a period of two years.

With their assistance we were able to export this product and attend international shows and events with the purpose of recruiting more distributors.
